The Daily MLB Fantasy Pulse- 5-23

Daily-Fantasy-PulseYesterday’s Studs

Miguel Cabrera- At this point, it’s just getting a little silly. The outfielders are actually helping Miggy hit homers now! In addition to that Micheal Bourne aided home run, Miggy also hit a double and walked.

Chris Davis- I did not see these Orioles offensive explosion coming against Hiroki Kuroda. Davis went 4/4 with a homer and 2 RBI.

Curtis Granderson- Granderson was a pretty popular play last night, with solid splits and cheap price. His time of being cheap on most sites is probably done now, after going 3/3 with a double and a home run.

5/23 Pitchers

Kevin Gausman- Gausman’s call up set a little fire ripple throughout the industry both on twitter and on the fantasy baseball blogs. There are some notes on Gausman here and here. Gausman has struck out 49 batters in 46.1 innings of AAA ball and I think that he’ll be able to take advantage of the Blue Jays unfamiliarity with his stuff. Gausman is as ace-y as prospect can get and he’ll be super dirt cheap.

Ryan Dempster- The options aren’t great tonight and that’s why I’ll be starting Dempster. Rarely would he make into my lineup against a team like Cleveland that’s bats can catch on fire at a moment’s notice, but I’d rather start Dempster than Zac McAllister or Ervin Santana against the red hot Angels.

5/23 Hitters

Miggy Cabrera- OH MY GOD JUST PLAY HIM EVERY DAY. It doesn’t matter. Just play him. More often than not, you are going to be rewarded with some positive points. Tonight, against Scott Diamond, he’s the best play possible.

Joe Mauer- Mauer is really the only hitter on the Twins worth much, other than Justin Morneau, and Rick Porcello is pretty prone to the blow up game.

Mike Trout/Josh Hamilton- Finally, the Angels offense is starting to look like the Angels offense. They have begun to explode the last week and as much as I love what Ervin Santana has been able to do this year (as a Royals fan) against his old team, when they are hot, I see this ending poorly for Santana and the Royals

(Short sked, so lack of picks. Feel free to contact me on twitter for more advice.)
