The Daily MLB Fantasy Pulse- 4-30

Daily-Fantasy-PulseYesterday’s Studs

Brandon Moss- Wait, what? THAT Brandon Moss? That Brandon Moss. In EIGHT At-Bats versus LAA last night, Moss hit 2 homers, drove in 3 runs, walked, scored 3 runs AND stole a base.

Carlos Gomez- Gomez might have a sky-high K rate, but that didn’t stop him from swatting a home run, a triple and scoring 3 runs.

Wilin Rosario- Ted Lilly was tossing batting practice last night and Rosario responded by going 3/4 with a homer, 3 runs and a double.

4/30 Pitchers

Justin Verlander- When Verlander takes the hill, you should probably start him. When it is against a hapless Minnesota team, you should especially start him. He will be expensive, but he is so consistent that you know what you are getting.

Roy Halladay- Finally, Halladay is an elite fantasy option. His price is still suppressed because he was SO bad in his first several outings, but no one in the Cleveland lineup scares me much, despite their offensive explosion against Wade Davis last night. Many hitters on the Indian’s roster will be facing Halladay for the first time, which favors Good Ole’ Doc.

4/30 Hitters

Chris Davis- Chris Davis has an OPS of 1.363 versus right handed pitchers. Versus Left-Handed hitters, Seattle’s starting pitcher, Brandon Maurer, gives up a .690 slugging percentage. If you don’t play Davis tonight, you hate money.

Brandon Crawford- With Tulo hurt and Starlin Castro slumping, there aren’t many appealing options at shortstop. Tonight, I’m rolling with Brandon Crawford in a decent lefty-righty matchup. Trevor Cahill is good, not great and Crawford is slugging .550 against right handed pitchers.

Matt Carpenter- Bronson Arroyo has actually turned himself into a good pitcher against right handed batters. Against left-handed batters, he still struggles. If you can’t tell, the BvP data for tonight is lacking, so I’m relying heavily on pitching splits. Again, this favors Carpenter who hits .309 versus righties and .167 against lefties. I expect him to get a few hits tonight.

Prince Fielder- I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying that Vance Worley is a pretty bad pitcher, and Detroit is probably going to be a popular stack tonight. Forced to pick between the very expensive Cabrera and Fielder, I go with the slightly cheaper Fielder, with the better split numbers.

Nelson Cruz- On a tear. At home. Against a bad left handed pitcher. Yep, start it up folks.
